Toad Spawn
It turns out that the disgustingly long "worm" was just toad eggs. While frogs lay eggs in clusters, it seems that many toads lay eggs in two really long squiggly strands. We all can sleep peacefully at night now knowing that there aren't 30 foot worms wriggling around out there...just lots of toad spawn.
