Help!

I'm due to have a baby in nine days and we have no clue what we're going to name this girl. Has anyone heard a cute name lately? Please?

Peace

The other day Jesse and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: A Dumb Movie. He found someone's license on the sidewalk and went to stand on the corner while they came back to get it. I went out to stand with him after I got our tickets and there was a Greenpeace man asking for donations. I don't feel nice brushing people off, and I also don't mind donating to a good cause, so I let him strike up a conversation with me. He told me all about Greenpeace and what their current push was for and then he asked me to donate. I told him I would talk to my husband before donating, he rebutted with how cheap donating to Greenpeace could be: Just $15 a month! I told him that I would still talk to my husband before donating and he came back with, "You can't spend $15 a month without talking to your husband?"

I was a bit taken aback. Was he seriously trying to goad me into donating? Or was he trying to get a lively debate going, where I come back with "No, but I'm not going to give you, some lone man on a street corner, my debit card number and set up an automatic withdrawl to my account totaling $180 a year without talking to my husband" and then he would say "But it's for a good cause! And I'm wearing a plastic yellow vest with reflective stripes!" and I would say, "Aren't you supposed to shun plastic?" and he would say "Touche! Fine, go talk to your husband"?

What ended up happening was I came back with a frosty reply, he backed off, I took two steps over to my husband and gave him a "Did you just hear that" look, and he gave me a "I knew you were totally going to let that Greenpeace guy talk to you" look. Then the Greenpeace guy saw me hold Jesse's hand and he decided to change corners.

Just wanted to let you know, Greenpeace man, that I wasn't planning on donating, since I don't really agree with your organization's methods, but now I'm not even going to pull up your website to see if my opinion can be swayed. Honey rather than vinegar, Mr. Wheat grass lover--especially when you're asking someone for money.

Duh

I had to have a phone conference with an RN from the hospital where I'll deliver, and while we were chatting she asked me my religious preference, and then she asked if I wanted a priest that worked at the hospital (it's a Catholic hospital) to visit me.

I didn't really know what to say. What would he do? Bless the baby? Baptise her? (Obviously not, but I wasn't expecting that question, and wasn't sure what a priest would do.) When I paused she suggested that a minister from my own church would probably visit me, and I just went along with that while at the same time thinking that my bishop probably would NOT visit me, since...well, why would he?

After hanging up the phone, I realized that I pretty much would have a minister from my church with me, in the form of my husband, who has the same priesthood that our bishop and Prophet both have (obviously he doesn't hold the same keys that they do, but it's still the same priesthood). What a blessing to be married to a man who honors his priesthood and who can call upon it whenever needed. He can give our children blessings, and he will be the one to baptise them. When I want a blessing during my labor, my husband will be right there.

The gospel isn't about restricting powers of the priesthood to certain people. The mission of the church, and what everyone is encouraged to do, is spread the gospel so everyone can have access to the blessings of the temple and the fulness of the gospel, which includes the priesthood. I'm so grateful to have the gospel in my life, and to be married to a man who values the gospel like I do.

Dear Kellan-

I know in your mind the words "pooh" and "pee" only have one association, and I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it's Winnie the Pooh, not Winnie the Pee.

Love,

Your Mother

Delish

We're in Utah right now for Jesse's youngest brother's wedding, and we decided to take a trip down to Provo to see if the Career Advisement Center had some career advice for Jesse.

While he was occupied, the boys and I were sitting in the area with all the tables outside the Cougeareat. Kellan told me he was going to go poop, so I quickly scooped our stuff up and headed to the bathroom so he could sit on the toilet. On our way over to the restrooms, Kellan ran under some random guy's table and sat right next to his feet. Then he proceeded to grunt and fill his diaper. I tried to call him out as soon as I realized where he was headed, but quickly changed my tactic to just walking away, extremely embarassed, hoping my kid would follow once the deed was done.

You know that kid went home and told his roommates that some toddler crawled under his table while he was studying and pooped. I know he noticed eventually, because when I walked by the table the smell of poop was in the air.

Thanks, Kellan! I owe you one!
