I need to thank my new boar hair round brush for my extra shiny and soft hair. When I style my hair I do think a little about the gross pig and the bristly hide that was sacrificed to make it, and acknowledge that it probably does what it does because boar hair is so oily, but...the results!
I wonder, is this like buying a fur coat on a smaller scale? How many boars go into making a brush? Do they kill the boar? I'm pretty sure they don't shave it and let it live.
Probably PETA wouldn't like my purchase. I'll make it all better by offering my sincere gratitude to the one being who made this possible: Thanks, disgusting pig! It was either me or a pig roast, if that makes it better!

If I lived somewhere cold, like Alaska or Minnesota for example, I would buy a fur coat in a second. Take that PETA.
However, it is kind of gross that you are brushing your hair with pig hide. How many times did that pig roll in some poopy mud?
