I was going to call this entry "Deodorant Problem", but realized that would misleading. My problem is with the antipersperant side of things. The problem is when I use deodorant/antipersperants they leave this greasy residue on my shirts, specifically the underarm area. When I use deodorants the problem goes away.
Do I just use too much of the antipersperant/deodorant combo? I try to use a deodorant, but it is hard to get that to work. First, most of the deodorant only sticks are geared towards the hippie-type. They have odd scents like pachouli and lemon grass. I don't want to walk around smelling like someone covering up a marijuana habit. Secondly, they are hard to find. Thirdly, not all deodorants are created equal. My problem lies in the fact that I haven't had an effective deodorant in a scent I like. I have to stop buying all these deodorants, though. Jesse makes fun of me.
Here are my options:
- Suck it up.
- Use my husband's Old Spice deodorant and smell like a man.
- Try a spray-on kind and see if the residue goes away. Hope like mad it doesn't cause lung cancer.
- Try the "rock" or the "crystal" or whatever it is called. Pray it's not just a scam. Have all of my medicine cabinet-snooping friends think I'm a closet hippie.
- Go on Oprah with my sob story and win a free house.
- Put my problem on the shoulders of the few readers of this blog.
Does anyone else have this problem, or am I a lone woman in my sufferings? Do any of the few readers use the spray-on deodorant? Is it greasy too? How about the rock? Does that work?
Please help.

I have been in search of a good deodorant/antiperspirant for a long time. I do get a film on my shirts, but have never really given it much thought. I did have a deodorant/antip.I liked and now they don't make it anymore...talk about frustrating. I don't think I am much help...I guess I just have problems too.
When will I see you on Oprah?
hey haley! I would default to the oprah big give away thing for sure. if that doesn't work out try the magic hippie crystal...you know that crystal is WAY more peace, love than any lemongrass scent...I thought mennen had a powder scent. I seem to remember that from somewhere in my childhood TV watching days. It just didn't seem very important until NOW! Wait a second...check this out. It may prove a useful crossroad in this deodorant debacle:

I choose Teen Spirit all the way. peace out for now.

You crazy.
Ha ha ha. I talked to my sister in law about this very thing the other day. She just uses her husband's. No one cares. Besides, you're married. You could also go with the Certain Dri approach. It fries your armpit pores so you don't sweat out of them at all. I don't know how healthy that is. I would avoid the spray. Your shirts will have a strange gray tinge to the armpits after a while. I have no idea what causes this. Wow, I'm impressed with my knowledge on this topic. Kind of gross.
Megan-
Thank you for the advice. I think I will stay away from the spray. It just doesn't seem healthy. I might try the rock crystal, but definitely won't try Certain Dry, or whatever it was. I don't mind sweating, I just don't want to smell.
