If anyone needs anything from REI, they are having their Super Clearance Sale, which starts today and ends September 1. They have things on sale, but anything that has a price tag that ends in .83 is an additional fifty percent off that price. So it's a pretty good deal. I'd head in sooner rather than later, because all the good things will be gone. Sale prices are also available online.
Oh, and I'm still bummed about big foot. I guess I thought, "Hey, if Phelps beats Spitz's record, maybe this is the year big foot can be real." I guess made-up things can never be real.
Finally, Jesse and I are headed to New Hampshire, with a side-trip to Lake Champlain in Vermont! I can't wait--it will be nice to see his family, have Ian meet the rest of his great-grandparents, and to get out of this stinky state. We really haven't done many summer activities, so it will be nice to just hang out at the beach (even though it's the frigid New England beach) and the lake. We don't leave until September 6th, and we'll get back on the 16th, so it's not coming up for a few weeks. But I'm still excited.

Too bad there's no REI close to us. Actually, that's a lie. The only one around is about 45 minutes away, but what I save on clothes I'd probably spend in gas and tolls. We'll have to contemplate that one....don't you just love vacations? I think one of the best parts is the anticipation, so I don't blame you one bit for being excited. It sounds like it will be fun.
